Three Signal SPD Lines — Choose the Protection Your Lines Need
Ethernet & PoE Surge Protector
Protects Ethernet and PoE lines for IP cameras, switches, routers, and wireless APs. Supports data transmission up to 1Gbps without signal degradation. PoE/PoE+ at 48V DC. Response <1ns. Indoor and outdoor-rated versions available.
CCTV & Coaxial Surge Protector
Protects CCTV camera video lines, satellite and CATV coaxial cables, and RF antenna feeds. Covers DC–6GHz frequency range. VSWR <1.2. Surge handling up to 20kA. IP67 outdoor versions for mast and tower installations.
RS485 & RS232 Surge Protector
Protects industrial RS485 and RS232 bus lines for PLCs, SCADA systems, sensors, and building automation. Supports 5V / 12V / 24V DC. Surge current up to 10kA (8/20µs). Long-distance bus line protection without signal attenuation.
Where Signal Surge Protectors Are Installed
Signal lines are the most vulnerable point in any system — a single surge can destroy cameras, cut data links, or halt industrial control buses. Signal SPDs install inline at building entries and near outdoor devices to intercept surges before they reach equipment.
Telecom Base Stations & Data Transmission
Protects routers, switches, and base station signal lines from lightning-induced surges. Ensures stable Ethernet and RF data links in outdoor and exposed installations.

CCTV & Security Monitoring Systems
Prevents video loss and camera damage in analog and IP surveillance systems. Protects coaxial video lines and PoE-powered IP cameras at outdoor junctions and building entries.

Industrial Control & RS485 Bus Lines
Guards RS485 and RS232 bus lines in PLCs, SCADA systems, sensors, and building automation controllers. Critical for long cable runs exposed to induced surges in industrial environments.

Data Centers & Server Room Networks
Protects structured cabling and patch panels from switching transients and indirect lightning. Maintains 1Gbps link integrity without introducing signal loss or latency.
Data Center Guide →Signal Integrity First — Protection That Doesn't Disrupt the Signal
A signal surge protector that introduces insertion loss, reduces bandwidth, or causes impedance mismatch defeats its own purpose. TrilPeak signal SPDs are engineered to be electrically transparent in normal operation — clamping surges in under 1ns without affecting data speed, video quality, or control bus timing. Factory-direct supply with OEM and private label support.
Signal Integrity — <1ns Response
Protection triggers in under 1 nanosecond — fast enough to clamp the surge before sensitive equipment registers it, and transparent enough that normal data transmission continues uninterrupted at full rated bandwidth.
IEC 61643-21 — Signal Line Standard
Tested to IEC 61643-21, the specific standard for surge protective devices on telecommunications and signalling networks. Not re-labelled AC power SPDs — purpose-designed for signal line protection.
IEC standards guide →Indoor & IP67 Outdoor Models
Standard DIN rail and inline models for panel and cabinet installation. IP65/IP67 weatherproof versions for outdoor cameras, antenna masts, and base station installations exposed to rain and humidity.
OEM & Custom Interface
Private label supply with your branding on product and packaging. Custom connector configurations (RJ45, BNC, SMA, N, F, TNC, RJ11) available for OEM integration. MOQ negotiable, NDA standard.

Signal Surge Protector — Frequently Asked Questions
What is a signal surge protector and when is it needed?
A signal surge protector (signal SPD) is installed in-line on low-voltage data or communication cables — Ethernet, CCTV coaxial, RS485, RF, or telephone — to clamp transient overvoltages caused by lightning or switching events. It is needed wherever signal cables run between buildings, enter from outdoor environments, or connect to equipment in lightning-exposed locations. Any cable that exits a building or runs alongside power cables is a potential surge path.
What is the difference between IEC 61643-11 and IEC 61643-21?
IEC 61643-11 covers surge protective devices for AC power circuits — the standard for Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 SPDs installed in distribution boards. IEC 61643-21 covers SPDs for telecommunications and signalling networks — specifically for Ethernet, CCTV, RS485, RF, and telephone line protection. Signal SPDs must be tested to IEC 61643-21 to verify they protect signal lines without degrading transmission performance.
Does a PoE surge protector affect power delivery or data speed?
A properly designed PoE SPD introduces no measurable reduction in PoE power delivery or data throughput. TrilPeak PoE models support PoE/PoE+ at 48V DC and maintain full 1Gbps bandwidth. The protection operates in parallel — during normal operation it presents high impedance to the signal and only activates in under 1ns when a surge is detected. PoE SPD guide →
Do I need separate SPDs for Ethernet data and PoE power on the same cable?
No. A PoE-rated Ethernet surge protector protects both the data pairs and the power pairs within a single RJ45 inline device. However, if the PoE injector or switch is also at risk from surges on the AC power side, an AC Type 2 SPD on the power supply input is still recommended alongside the signal SPD on the Ethernet port.
How do I protect RS485 bus lines from lightning in outdoor installations?
Install an RS485 surge protector at every point where the RS485 cable transitions from indoors to outdoors, or enters a building from an external run. Mount the SPD as close as possible to the equipment terminal with the earth lead kept short. For long RS485 bus runs (>100m), install SPDs at both ends of the cable. TrilPeak RS485 SPDs support 5V / 12V / 24V bus voltages with up to 10kA (8/20µs) surge protection. RS485 guide →
Can signal surge protectors be used for both indoor and outdoor installations?
Yes. Standard indoor models are designed for DIN rail panels, equipment cabinets, and patch panels in controlled environments. IP65/IP67-rated outdoor models are weatherproofed for direct installation at camera junction boxes, antenna masts, base station equipment, and any exposed outdoor location. Always match the IP rating to the installation environment.
