AC SPD Types
Type 1 โ Service entrance, buildings with external lightning protection system (LPS). Iimp rated.
Type 2 โ Sub-distribution panels. The standard choice for most industrial and commercial installations. In rated.
Type 3 โ Point-of-use, directly at equipment. Used alongside a Type 2 upstream. Up โค 1.5kV.
Type 1+2 โ Combined in one unit. Space-saving for buildings without dedicated LPS.
DC & Solar SPD
PV String SPD โ Install at combiner box or inverter DC input. Rated to match string voltage (500/1000/1500Vdc).
BESS SPD โ Battery energy storage systems require SPDs on both DC bus and AC grid connection.
EV Charger SPD โ Install on the AC supply to the charger. Type 2 recommended as minimum.
Standard EN 61643-31 โ Applies to DC SPDs for PV systems. All TrilPeak DC SPDs are CE certified to this standard.
Signal Line SPD
Ethernet โ RJ45 SPDs protect IP cameras, switches, and PoE devices. Choose PoE-rated if applicable.
RS-485 โ 2-wire or 4-wire versions. Used for Modbus, PROFIBUS, BACnet in industrial environments.
CCTV โ Video line SPDs for coaxial (BNC) or UTP-based analogue/IP surveillance systems.
Standard EN IEC 61643-21 โ Applies to signal line SPDs. Request test reports from our team.
