Stage 1–2

Raw Material Preparation

Zinc oxide and metal oxide dopants are precisely batch-blended and processed through a large-scale spray dryer into uniform granulate.

Stage 3–5

Forming & Sintering

Granulate is pressed into disc or rectangular forms, then sintered at 1,100–1,200°C — creating the ceramic grain boundary microstructure that gives MOVs their surge-clamping properties.

Stage 6–10

Electrode & Encapsulation

Silver electrodes are printed and fired onto both faces. Copper leads are attached. Each chip passes 100% electrical testing, then receives blue epoxy encapsulation.

Stage 11 + SPD Assembly

Final Test & SPD Assembly

Chips pass a second 100% electrical test before entering SPD assembly. Finished SPDs are tested to IEC 61643-11 / IEC 61643-31 before packaging.

One Facility — Zero External Handoffs

Verified chips move directly from chip production into SPD assembly within the same building — no external shipment, no third-party handling. Finished SPDs undergo 100% routine electrical testing to IEC 61643-11 (AC) and IEC 61643-31 (DC/PV) before packaging.

Yes. TrilPeak produces MOV chips in-house — from raw zinc oxide through all production and testing stages. These chips are used exclusively in TrilPeak's own SPD manufacturing, ensuring complete quality control from raw material to finished device.

Why does in-house production matter for OEM buyers?

It provides batch-to-batch parameter consistency, enables custom electrical specifications without relying on external suppliers, and gives full production traceability from raw material to shipped unit — essential for quality audits and warranty management.

Can I audit the production facility?
