The Entire Plaza Goes Dark After One Storm

A lightning strike nearby induces a high-energy surge through the incoming grid feed. Without a Type 1+2 SPD at the main distribution board, the transient travels through every circuit — tripping breakers, burning control boards and taking the entire site offline at once.

A Type 1+2 or Type 1 SPD at the main incoming distribution board handles high-energy surges for the whole site. Type 2 SPDs on individual charger branch circuits handle residual transients.
